SOUTHERN AFRICA TRUST HAS A NEW CEO AND SHE’S ABSOLUTELY DESERVING!

The Southern Africa Trust has announced the appointment of Ms. Masego Madzwamuse as its new CEO.

Ms. Masego Madzwamuse holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from Rhodes University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Science and Technology from the University of Botswana.

Prior to her appointment, she worked for Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA), where she was the team leader for their Economic and Social Justice Cluster.

Ms Madzwamuse has a wealth of experience and knowledge on socio-economic rights, development policy, the political economy of Southern Africa as well as a wide range of networks.

Effective 15th October 2018, she will be at the helm of Southern Africa Trust, an organisation that works to end poverty and inequalities in the Southern Africa region by strengthening the voice of poor people in public policy processes, to reduce poverty and inequality in ways that promote regional linkages and a regional agenda.

The Trust also supports civil society organisations in southern Africa to participate effectively and with credibility in policy dialogue so that the voices of the poor can have a better impact in the development of public policies.

It focuses on issues related to public policy, official poverty reduction processes, human rights, stakeholder engagement, human and economic development, research, training, and capacity building.
